Abstract
This article explores the psychological dimensions involved in teaching media literacy, focusing on essential aspects crucial for the creation of effective textbooks. Media literacy is increasingly vital in navigating today's complex media landscape, where misinformation and biased content abound. Understanding the psychological principles that underpin effective learning and critical thinking is paramount in designing educational materials that foster media literacy skills. This paper examines key psychological factors such as cognitive development, attentional biases, motivation, and socio-emotional aspects relevant to media literacy instruction. By integrating psychological insights into textbook design, educators can better equip learners with the skills necessary to critically analyze and navigate the vast array of media messages encountered in contemporary society.
