Abstract
Psychological problems of intelligence and intellectual development are considered in the context of designing of experimental distance learning course of personal development “Success”. The research shows that highly developed intelligence is related to the process of life success achievement. General metacognitions (reflection, strategic thinking, decentration) and unassisted problem statement are shown to be sufficient for integration of different types of intelligence – academic, practical, social, emotional – and for their discrimination from other psychic constructs. Forming of these intellectual metacognitions is included in the distance learning course for development of competencies of success. In order to give learning developmental potential, ability to promote transforming of information into knowledge and means for problem solving, a unit of development (self-development) should be designed and put into operation.
