Abstract

The article analyzes the results of the international testing of academic achievements of Ukrainian students who participated in PISA–2018; in particular, it studies the development of their reading competence. The paper outlines the key problems of developing the reading competence in the framework of general secondary education, and offers sample exercises and tasks to develop the reading competence at lessons of Ukrainian.
