Abstract

The article examines modern approaches to the development of web-based encyclopedic resources in the field of education amidst the digitalization of science and education. The study is driven by the need to improve electronic encyclopedic resources as tools for generating, systematizing, and disseminating scientifically verified knowledge, developing the conceptual and terminological framework of pedagogy and psychology, and supporting research and educational activities. The aim of the article is to investigate conceptual approaches to developing web-based encyclopedic resources in education by substantiating interconnected content, technological, and organizational vectors and defining key directions for their implementation, using the “Ukrainian Electronic Encyclopedia of Education” (UEEE) as a case study. To achieve this aim, a set of complementary research methods was employed, including the analysis of scholarly sources, a comparative analysis of the UEEE’s operational experience, a synthesis of editorial practices, and structural-functional analysis. The article substantiates an interconnected system of content, technological, and organizational vectors for the development of a web-based encyclopedic resource in education and outlines directions for their implementation. Key development areas for each proposed vector are identified, encompassing the enhancement of encyclopedic content, the development of technological infrastructure, semantic knowledge structuring, editorial and publishing processes, and organizational support for the web resource's operation. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the potential to apply the proposed conceptual approaches to the development of web-based educational encyclopedic resources and the design of information systems for generating and developing domain-specific knowledge.
