Abstract

This publication is devoted to an analysis of the evolution of the concept of electronic encyclopedias in both the domestic and global contexts, to define the role of the Ukrainian Electronic Encyclopedia of Education (UEEE) within the system of scientific and educational communication, and to outline the prospects for its development. The UEEE is an important evolutionary step in the development of domestic scientific and educational communication. It combines the academic authority of traditional encyclopedias with the dynamism and accessibility of digital platforms. For the UEEE to develop steadily, it is necessary to: expand the range of article types (biographical, institutional, case studies); ensure technical integration with other information systems in education and science; develop multimedia capabilities and bilingual content; and establish a transparent system for funding and engaging experts.
