Abstract

"The procedure for conducting instrumental verification for academic plagiarism, the presence of text borrowings in the manuscripts of qualification works of higher education applicants with a "master" degree determines the procedure for checking academic texts for the presence of text borrowings from open sources on the Internet using the StrikePlagiarism or Plagiat.lviv.ua software complex. Verification of academic texts using the StrikePlagiarism or Plagiat.lviv.ua software complex is carried out to determine the degree of similarity of the academic text to the texts of documents contained on the Internet. The system provides information of a recommendatory nature, the final decision on the legality of borrowings found by the StrikePlagiarism or Plagiat.lviv.ua information software complex is made by the scientific supervisor / scientific and pedagogical employees of the department / Council for the Quality of Higher Education of the specialty, taking into account the results of checking with software tools, the specifics and type of work, as well as their own knowledge of the relevant subject area. The procedure for reimbursement of costs for conducting a re-check of works for academic plagiarism in cases of detection of academic plagiarism or modification in the work has been determined. The StrikePlagiarism or Plagiat.lviv.ua software complex is used by the Institute on the basis of a cooperation agreement concluded with the system developer (PLA "Plagiat" LLC). The purpose of the cooperation is to ensure high quality professional training of higher education students, introduce modern software tools into the organization of educational and scientific activities, promote academic integrity, and improve the quality of education in general by identifying signs of plagiarism in the works of students.
