Abstract
The importance of new generation educational literature is emphasized in educational guidance documents, in particular in the Law of Ukraine “On Education”, which emphasizes the importance of the quality of educational literature for improving the scientific and methodological support of education. The textbook is addressed to psychologists-experts of educational literature of secondary education institutions. In the textbook “Psychological analysis of educational materials for general secondary education”, the textbook is considered not only as a carrier of educational content, one of the key means of achieving learning outcomes, but also as a factor in the mental development of a schoolchild. The compliance of educational materials with psychological and pedagogical requirements, the completeness of the reflection of the psychological component in educational materials are considered. The textbook presents methodological guidelines for the psychological analysis of educational materials, considers the psychological component of educational literature, and proposes an algorithm for conducting a psychological analysis (expertise) of a textbook. All this will allow developing educational materials that are psychologically justified in content and form of presentation. The textbook may be useful for authors of educational literature, psychologists, teachers, experts, and social workers.
