Abstract
The article analyzes key aspects of the formation of digital open science systems, particularly the creation of virtual scientific teams, cooperation within the European Research Area (ERA), and the role of cloud-oriented platforms and infrastructures in organizing open scientific communities. International documents are analyzed, such as the Roadmap for the Integration of Ukrainian Science into the ERA, the Declaration of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), and the FAIR principles, which have become the basis for the transformation of the scientific space of Ukraine. The open science system is considered at two levels: an organizational system and an information and communication technology platform. Since 2019, events have been held in Ukraine to popularize the ideas of open science among scientific and educators, particularly a survey on EOSC cloud services. The results show that the spread of digital open science systems is directly related to the internationalization and sustainable development of educational institutions, which requires increasing the level of digital competence not only of scientists, but also of students and teachers. Cloud technologies play an essential role in this process. This contributes to forming virtual scientific teams, developing scientific mobility, and participating in international projects. Ukraine has significantly improved the indicators regarding the number of participants. Ukraine's integration into the ERA and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) requires overcoming challenges, in particular, regarding the insufficient awareness of the educational community with the principles of open science and the inadequate level of digital competence. The components of digital competence of open science relevant to the internationalization and sustainable development of higher education have been identified within existing frameworks: conceptual understanding of open science, awareness of its principles and digital systems, knowledge of available technologies, and the ability to apply them in international and project-based activities. The article analyzes and assesses the current state of open science competence in various categories of educators and substantiates that digital competence in open science is critical for successful participation in global scientific initiatives and ensuring the competitiveness of Ukrainian science and education in the context of digital transformation.
