Abstract
Since the beginning of the conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014 and until today, children remain one of the most vulnerable groups of the population. Although violence and conflict negatively affect all people, children are particularly vulnerable to suffering. Therefore, the study of stress in children is extremely relevant, since in the modern world they are exposed to a significant number of stressful situations that can negatively affect their physical and psychological health. Stress in children can cause sleep problems, bad mood, poor academic performance, health problems, anxiety, depression, aggression, neurotic disorders and decreased immunity. The article is devoted to the study of the concept of "stress" depending on the type of stressor and the features of its manifestation - physiological and mental, positive - negative. The article examines the psychological state of children in Ukraine during the war. Factors that cause stress in children and signs that the child is in a stressful situation are singled out. In the article, special attention is paid to the areas of work of a practical psychologist with children who find themselves in difficult life situations: providing psychological first aid, carrying out individual restorative work. Attention is also paid to the role of parents in helping children overcome stress. The article presents a set of exercises and games for overcoming posttraumatic stress in children. The results of the study will help parents, teachers and social workers understand the factors that cause stress and develop effective methods and programs to reduce its negative impact and increase the psychological well-being of children.
