Abstract
The methodological recommendations define the theoretical basis of psychological requirements for the development of educational literature. The list of issues of the psychological spectrum, with the help of which it is possible to describe the relevant requirements for educational literature, and the criteria for the development of textbooks for elementary school students are characterized. Methodical recommendations contain examples of competence training tasks that should be reflected in textbooks and other types of educational literature for younger schoolchildren. An important criterion for the development of the textbook is the analysis of its compliance with the competence approach in the context of the methodological guidelines of the New Ukrainian School. Outlined guidelines for the psychological analysis of educational literature can be useful to potential authors in the process of developing textbooks, teaching aids, and workbooks for the New Ukrainian School.
