Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the problem of lifelong learning in the conditions of the information and technological society. The analysis of modern researches and publications on the investigated problem is carried out. The author grounds the urgency and importance of the development of lifelong learning, due to the dynamics of social, scientific and technological progress, changes in the content and nature of work, increased leisure time, as well as opportunities for its rational use. The emphasis is placed on the knowledge society as a special level of societal development, in which knowledge influences the material and spiritual life of man and becomes the main source of its further development. The need and ability to acquire knowledge constantly is inherent to the knowledge society, which becomes a factor in understanding the problems of the society development and their technological solution. The importance of learning and education as a factor of sustainable society development is revealed. It is emphasized that education is becoming a universal civilization resource that enables the development of each individual’s potential. It is noted that ensuring the accessibility and continuity of lifelong learning is recognized as one of the priority directions of the state educational policy, outlined by the National Strategy for the Development of Education in Ukraine until 2021. This intensified the creation of the Ukrainian model of adult education. The results of international expert surveys, which show the positive impact of different forms of adult education and training on labor productivity and employment are visualized. The attention is also paid to the financing of education. The measures that will help increase the effectiveness of lifelong learning and education in Ukraine are given, the expediency of their implementation is demonstrated. The conclusion is substantiated that lifelong learning and education determine the effectiveness of innovative development, which can be presented at three levels: individual, enterprise (organization) and society.
