Abstract

The article, based on historical and bibliographic research, presents the page “Celestin Freinet” in the information and bibliographic resource “Outstanding educators of Ukraine and the world”; it presents a detailed description of the content and filling of the headings of the foreign teacher and practical specialist’s personality of the XX century. The life path and creative heritage of the French educator, teacher, representative of the so-called “progressive pedagogy” Célestin Freinet (1896-1966) have been reflected. The sections of the resource pages have been presented: ”Biography”, “Bibliography of Works”, “Bibliography of Works on C. Freinet’s Life and Activities”, “Full-Text Documents”, “Célestin Freinet’s Aphorisms”, “Photo Gallery”. In particular, the biography of the educator and reformer has been presented, his contribution to pedagogical science has been outlined. The bibliographic information has been summarized and the content of the bibliographic heading dedicated to the educator’s legacy, containing information about the educator’s scientific works, has been disclosed. A review of the sources presented in the bibliographic section of works on C. Freinet’s life and work – dissertations, textbooks, articles from collections of scientific works, periodicals – has been carried out. The contribution of the teacher to the development of pedagogical science and practice has been analyzed. It has been noted that the theoretical provisions, in which C. Freinet focused on pedagogical technologies (“Freinet's technique”) and the characteristics of the child's individuality, are being rethought today and acquire a new meaning. It has been found out that teachers use Celesten Freinet’s foqw rms and methods in educational work with children. The scanned works have been presented in the “Full-text documents” section. It has been proved that Celesten Freinet’s personality in the electronic information and bibliographic resource “Outstanding educators of Ukraine and the world” is represented by a powerful array of information and can be used for writing scientific works.
