Abstract
It is determined that professional development is first of all a tool for updating the knowledge of pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers, their skills and abilities; reforming education and deepening its content; expansion of educational offers in accordance with modern requirements. It was found that the necessary conditions for the implementation of professional development of teachers are internal motivation; critical analysis of knowledge, skills, values, attitudes; construction of new knowledge, skills, abilities, values; cognitive restructuring of knowledge; creating a favorable climate for professional development.
