Abstract
Distance learning has not only disadvantages, but also significant potential for improving the quality of education by individualizing the educational process, balancing the opportunities and needs of knowledge seekers, flexibility in the development of their creative potential. The information obtained by diagnosing allows the student to determine the feasibility and possible effectiveness of the use of resources for learning in the chosen area, to identify "weaknesses" and "strengths" of the achieved (at the time of testing) level of development, and to choose the optimal learning trajectory. On the other hand, such information allows the teacher to manage the workload more differently and flexibly, optimize control functions depending on the capabilities and needs of students, make the learning process more interesting and exciting for them.
