Abstract
The main results of V.O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine activities for developing Sukhomlynskyi studies as a new direction in the History of Education are presented; the life and work of the outstanding Ukrainian pedagogue-humanist V.O. Sukhomlynskyi in the education and research areas are studied. It is argued that the innovative activity (scientific, scientific and informational, scientific and methodological, sociocultural, international) of the Library in this direction is a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian education, pedagogy, humanities, biographistics. The scientific achievements (researches, biobibliographic guides, scientific and practical events) are characterized. The forms (electronic resources, virtual projects, book exhibitions) of scientific and information work are defined, which is aimed at replenishment and storage of the documents of V.O. Sukhomlynsky Fund reading room (a structural part of Sukhomlynskyi studies sector in the Department of Pedagogical Source Studies and Biographistics), formation and expansion of thematic content of the Library web portal. The forms of sociocultural activity (lectures, excursions, theatrical literary and musical programs, etc.) concerning the popularization of V.O. Sukhomlynskyi’s pedagogical and literary heritage are defined. The experience of work in this field, which can be used by other institutions to study and disseminate the creative works of famous Ukrainian and foreign personalities, are generalized. Prospects for the development of Sukhomlynskyi studies as the direction of the Library’s activities in the structure of NAES of Ukraine are outlined.
