Abstract

Open science, open access, open data and open source are becoming increasingly popular and necessary. However, widespread implementation of these practices in Ukraine has not yet been achieved. One reason is that researchers aren't sure how sharing materials will affect their careers. Open materials, according to research, lead to increased citations, media attention and colleagues, opportunities to work together on one scientific problem and additional funding. Such findings are evidence that open research brings significant benefits to scientists compared to traditional closed practices.
