Abstract

Activity of scientific specialist in folklore and pedagogical of the first chancellor of University of Saint Volodymyr Mykhajlo Maksymovich is analysed as a founder of academic anduniversity specialist in folklore in Ukraine. The most ponderable achievements of scientist-teacher areexamined: scientifically-methodological results of researchof folklore tradition, their introduction in professionalpreparation of students-philologists.
