Abstract

In this article, based on the results of bibliographic analysis of the publications on the topic “A Child and a Book: Investigation Through the Ages” (all the analyzed literary sources can be found in the funds of The State Pedagogical Scientific Library Named After V. O. Sukhomlinsky), we make an attempt to analyze the main stages of children’s literature development in general and the activity of children’s reading in particular taking into account the historical and cultural peculiarities of different epochs.
