Abstract
The article revealed the role of adult education in the context of contemporarysocio-economic transformations, in particular with regard to adapting to a rapidly changing socium; justified trends leading its development (the transition from the concept of functional training to the concept of personality development, the evolution of knowledge in the basic source of value of the information society, the establishment of education as an important factor to overcome backwardness in development).
