Abstract

Presents the results of a study of the psychological resources of parents of primary school children through the lens of their experience of interpersonal violence during wartime. The relevance of studying parents’ psychological resources as an important condition for ensuring children’s emotional stability, sense of safety, and adaptation to stressful situations is substantiated. The study involved 105 parents of primary school pupils in Kyiv. The validated Life Events Checklist (LEC) was used to assess experiences of interpersonal violence, with particular attention to the subscale of events related to interpersonal violence. The findings suggest that experience of interpersonal violence may be a potentially significant factor contributing to psychological burden among parents in conditions of wartime instability. The importance of considering such experiences in psychological support for families and in the development of support programs aimed at strengthening psychological resilience, self-regulation, and parents’ ability to cope effectively with stress is substantiated.
