Abstract
The article highlights the international activities of the V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine in the context of its researchers’ participation in the 47th International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE 47), held in Athens on 9-10 and 15-18 July 2026 in a hybrid format and dedicated to sources and research practices in the history of education. The significance of scientific, educational and cultural diplomacy under the conditions of the russian federation’s full-scale war against Ukraine is substantiated. The paper presents the content of the reports delivered by Chief Researchers of the Department of Pedagogical Source Studies and Biographical Studies, Larysa Berezivska, Tetiana Havrylenko, and Oleksandr Mikhno, highlighting the results of research in Ukrainian pedagogical biography, source studies heuristics and the archival heritage of the Ukrainian emigration. Particular attention is paid to the concept of a chrestomathy as an educational publication on Ukrainian emigrant educators and to the potential of the archives of the Ukrainian Free University for reconstructing the educational biographies of members of the Ukrainian diaspora. It is demonstrated that the presentation of Ukrainian historical and educational studies at ISCHE 47 contributed to the integration of the national scholarly discourse into the global academic community, strengthened the agency of Ukrainian scholarship and advanced the decolonisation of the history of education.
