Abstract

This publication presents a rationale for the architecture of a modern hybrid decision support system (DSS) that combines predictive artificial intelligence (AI) analytics with explanatory mechanisms to enhance trust and the effectiveness of decisions. The integration of AI and DSS allows for the automation of routine analysis while keeping control over critical decisions in human hands. The key to success is explanation: without it, the decision-maker’s level of confidence remains low regardless of accuracy.
