Abstract
It is substantiated that digital competence is a key component of professional training and competitiveness of specialists in the conditions of digitalization of the economy and education. The main directions of digital transformation of education are analyzed, as well as the role of innovative technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in the development of digital skills and lifelong learning. The possibilities of formal education, as well as the potential of non-formal and informal educational practices (online courses, professional communities, digital platforms) in developing digital competence are characterized. It is determined that effective formation of digital competence requires the integration of different educational environments, modernization of educational content, and development of teachers’ digital literacy.
