Abstract

The article reveals the possibilities of using immersive technologies in the professional training of future science teachers. It is determined that immersive technologies are technologies of full or partial immersion in the virtual world, which are based on the use of various types of mixing real and virtual reality. The author states that the most popular immersive technologies include virtual reality (providing three-dimensional visualisation and interactivity), augmented reality (adding digital objects), and mixed reality (interaction between the real and virtual worlds). The differences between these technologies are revealed, and it is noted that augmented reality is more promising and simpler than virtual reality, since it allows you to focus on what is important, contributes not only to broadening the worldview of students, but also to their interest in the learning process in general, stimulating the process of acquiring new knowledge and forming competencies. The main characteristics of augmented reality are identified: interactivity, information applications, games, interaction with virtual objects, navigation and maps. The article substantiates the use of AR in the study of natural sciences, which includes: visualisation of complex structures; modelling of ecosystems; study of geological formations by visualising them on mobile devices or AR glasses; study of ecosystems and biodiversity and interaction of different species of organisms in the natural environment; modelling of climatic processes that allow understanding climate change and its impact on the environment; study of astronomy, study of planets and other astronomical objects.
