Abstract
The paper examines the experience of Austria, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and France, which shows that the integration of AI into general secondary education in Europe is taking place, in particular, through pilot educational projects and programs that include local initiatives and elective courses. Common to these initiatives are the development of rules and ethical frameworks for the use of AI at the secondary education level; the professional development of teachers; developing students' AI literacy and 21st-century skills (critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration); using AI as a tool for teaching (planning, preparing materials, individualizing learning) and as a subject of study in STEM/robotics and project-based research.
