Abstract
In the current conditions of transformation of the field of education and science, the formation and development of digital competence of scientists and pedagogical staff is of great importance. The article is devoted to the substantiation and development of a methodology for developing the digital competence of researchers and research and pedagogical staff aimed at developing their practical skills in using the ERIH PLUS abstract index on the Dimensions platform to solve professional problems: searching for relevant journals, their comparative analysis according to modern scientometric indicators and a reasonable choice of the optimal platform for publication. In order to solve this problem, a specialized course «Development of Digital Competence of Researchers and Pedagogical Staff Using the ERIH PLUS Abstract Index» was developed to study the effective use of this database, which allows not only to increase the level of digital competence of researchers and university professors, but also to stimulate their motivation to actively use scientific resources in their professional activities. The course consists of two modules. The study has shown the value of ERIH PLUS for researchers in the context of limited access to commercial databases, which makes it expedient to integrate it into educational and research processes at various levels as an element of the open science infrastructure. Mastering ERIH PLUS as a necessary step for successful work in the modern digital world is that its systematic use not only increases the digital competence of researchers and university teachers, but also integrates the skills of effective search and analysis into their daily professional activities, which is key to scientific growth. Digital transformation opens up new opportunities for knowledge analysis, namely: in the context of the development of ICT and digital science, research on bibliometric and scientometric systems that support scientific and pedagogical research is promising.
