Abstract
The article examines the potential of 3D modeling as an effective pedagogical tool for developing project-based thinking in students of grades 7–9 within the context of digital transformation in education. The relevance of integrating three-dimensional modeling technologies into lower secondary school curricula is substantiated in accordance with the competency-based approach and orientation toward STEM education. The study highlights the importance of developing spatial imagination, engineering thinking, and planning and organizational skills through practical and collaborative project activities. Particular attention is paid to the methodological sequence of instruction — from mastering basic operations to creating complex models. It is emphasized that the implementation of 3D modeling enhances students’ motivation, fosters independence and creativity, and promotes the ability to apply knowledge in real-life contexts. The article concludes that 3D modeling is an effective tool for developing key competencies and realizing the potential of modern digital education.
