Abstract

The article examines the role of science as a key factor in the intellectual and economic development of society. Emphasis is placed on the two main functions of scientific activity – cognitive and practical – which ensure the acquisition of new knowledge and the creation of innovative technologies. The necessity of methodological training for postgraduate students and young researchers is substantiated, particularly regarding the criteria for evaluating the validity, novelty, and practical significance of dissertation research.
