Abstract
This section substantiates the methodological foundations for introducing and developing the subject Computer Science within specialized secondary education in Ukraine under conditions of rapid digital transformation. It analyzes contemporary challenges and trends in the digitalization of education, including the growing role of artificial intelligence, information security, digital communication, and interdisciplinary integration. The authors examine the regulatory framework and state standards governing specialized secondary education and justify the need to strengthen computer science education as a key factor in forming pupils’ digital, informational, and communication competencies necessary for active participation in the information society and sustainable development. The study proposes a structured model for teaching computer science at both basic and advanced levels in academic lyceums, including a rationale for content selection, thematic structuring, and assessment aligned with learning outcome groups defined by the State Standard. Particular attention is given to practice-oriented learning, project-based and interdisciplinary approaches, elective components, and integrated courses that enhance the applied and integrative potential of computer science across different educational profiles. The proposed methodological approach aims to ensure continuity, flexibility, and relevance of computer science education, increase pupils’ motivation, and support informed educational and professional choices in the context of ongoing digital transformation.
