Abstract

This article explores the impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI) models on academic integrity in higher education. It examines current challenges related to the use of AI tools by students, particularly in terms of plagiarism, data fabrication, and reduced motivation for independent learning. The paper presents the results of an empirical survey conducted among 345 students at the Drahomanov Ukrainian State University regarding their use of ChatGPT and similar technologies in the learning process. Key benefits and risks are identified, along with an analysis of attitudes toward the ethical use of AI. The article provides recommendations for shaping academic integrity policies in response to emerging digital challenges.
