Abstract

The abstract examines the role of digital archives in transforming modern historical education and the professional training of future specialists. It highlights the advantages of using digital surrogate copies, which allow for the simultaneous preservation of original documents while providing unhindered access to a global audience. The impact of working with digital primary sources on the development of students' critical thinking, research skills, and empathy is analyzed. The study considers the technical challenges of digitalization, the role of artificial intelligence in automating archival processes, and the significance of integrating technology to ensure inclusivity in the educational process. It is demonstrated that digital archives are a fundamental tool for forming competent history teachers within the context of a global digital society.
