Abstract

In the modern digital world, personal self-presentation has been transformed under the influence of technological capabilities of online platforms and digital communication tools. This article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of psychological mechanisms of personal self-presentation in the context of digital visualization, which includes the use of images, video, graphics and other multimedia elements in digital space. The research examines the theoretical foundations of impression management in a network environment, the psychological motives that prompt individuals to construct a digital image, as well as the consequences of such activities for psychological well-being and social adaptation. Considerable attention is paid to the phenomenon of cyber-socialization and the formation of a virtual selfimage, which often differs from a real personality. The article analyzes the mechanisms of selective presentation of information about oneself, strategies for building a positive image in conditions of digital competition, and psychological conflicts arising from the discrepancy between real and virtual images. Age and gender peculiarities of selfpresentation in digital space, the influence of social networks on the formation of selfesteem and personal identity are also considered. The research is based on modern theories of social psychology, personality psychology and digital psychology, including the works of classics in the field of impression management and contemporary researchers of the phenomenon of online identity. The results of the analysis indicate the need to develop digital psychological literacy and critical thinking among users of digital platforms, as well as the importance of understanding the psychological mechanisms underlying digital self-presentation for psychological practice, education and digital service development. The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility of applying the obtained results in consultative psychology, psychological counseling of people with identity and social adaptation problems, as well as in developing programs for the development of digital competence and psychological readiness for online communication.
