Abstract

The article examines the topical issue of professional development of teachers amid the ongoing changes in education. The aim of the study was to identify the main psychological determinants of the formation of the professional self-position of teachers of socio-economic specialties in the context of the transformation of the higher education system. The study found that the transformation of higher education is driven by digitalization, the introduction of distance and hybrid learning formats, changes in the professional roles of teachers in the context of a competency-based approach, stricter requirements for academic integrity, and the impact of socio-political crises, including the war in Ukraine. These factors are shaping a new professional landscape in which teachers need to constantly rethink their professional identity and adapt to new conditions of pedagogical interaction. An important area of transformation is the change in the role of teachers in higher education, which involves a shift from imparting knowledge to acting as facilitators, moderators of the educational process, and mentors for students' individual learning trajectories. Researchers have found that this change in roles forces teachers to rethink their professional self-perception, acquire new communication and methodological competencies, and integrate elements of partnership with students into their professional activities. The article showed that the formation of the professional self-position of teachers of socio-economic disciplines is a complex process influenced by interrelated factors of personal qualities, socio-psychological characteristics of the professional environment, and organizational and contextual factors of educational reform. It was noted that the direction of professional development is determined by resilience, reflectiveness, emotional stability, autonomy, the ability to self-regulate, and professional motivation. Thus, the psychological determinants of the formation of the professional selfposition of teachers of socio-economic specialties are systemic and multifactorial in nature, and their interaction determines the peculiarities of professional development in the context of the transformation of modern higher education. Accordingly, further analysis requires identifying the specific impact of each group of factors on the structure and dynamics of the professional identity of teachers, taking into account current trends in educational changes.
