Abstract
This article presents an analytical review and methodological substantiation of an algorithm for providing comprehensive psychological support to all participants in the educational process—children, educators, and parents—in the context of the ongoing full-scale military aggression. The unprecedented scale of psychological traumatization among the Ukrainian population due to the war necessitates an urgent shift from chaotic, situational responses and volunteer efforts to clear, standardized, and systematic professional psychological support within educational settings. The study's relevance is heightened by the understanding that educational institutions, in crisis conditions, assume the priority function of a safety hub, a source of stability, and psychosocial support, becoming a critical link in restoring a sense of normalcy and resilience. The prolonged exposure to trauma factors and the situational uncertainty demand novel approaches to minimize the long-term consequences of traumatic experiences, specifically the development of PTSD, anxiety disorders, and adaptation impairments. This makes the development of a universal yet adaptable methodology crucial for ensuring the continuity and quality of education. The aim of the article is to conduct a thorough analytical evaluation and present a clear, structured, and practically oriented (algorithmic) position on delivering effective psychological support in crisis conditions. To achieve this, the authors analyzed and integrated leading global experience in crisis psychology and psychosocial support, including the Psychological First Aid (PFA) model, the principles of the Trauma-Informed Approach, and international practices in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). This foreign experience was synthesized and adapted to the unique domestic scientific context, which accounts for the specificity of an unresolved traumatic event and the high level of collective trauma in Ukraine. As a result, it is substantiated that the optimal methodological algorithm for psychological support must be systemic, sequential, scientifically grounded, and adaptive, functioning on the principles of a multi-tiered support system. It encompasses four key, interconnected stages that ensure a comprehensive approach: 1. Diagnostic-Prognostic: Timely risk identification, needs screening, and forecasting of potential psychological consequences. 2. Preventive-Educational: Fostering a mental health culture, increasing the level of resilience (vitality), and teaching self-help and support skills to all participants. 3. Correctional-Rehabilitative: Providing individual and group crisis psychological aid, working with trauma, and preventing the development of PTSD. 4. Evaluative-Controlling: Monitoring the effectiveness of interventions and introducing necessary adjustments to the support program. The research demonstrates the critical necessity of creating and implementing a national crisis standard for psychological support in the educational environment, which must serve as the foundation for enhancing the professional competence of specialists in the psychological service. The proposed methodological algorithm is a practically significant tool for minimizing the long-term socio-psychological consequences of trauma and ensuring the stable functioning of the educational system as the basis for national recovery.
