Abstract

The article deals with the main approaches to the organization of speech therapy support for children with hearing impairment. The tasks of the speech therapist in the system of special education are defined, the peculiarities of speech development of children with different degrees of hearing impairment are characterized. Special attention is paid to modern methods and forms of work that contribute to the effective correction of speech disorders. The organization of speech therapy support for children with hearing impairments is an extremely urgent problem of modern special education, due to the growing number of children with various forms of hearing impairment and the need to ensure their full development of speech and communication skills. The article analyzes the main tasks of speech therapy for this category of children, reveals the peculiarities of their speech development depending on the degree of hearing impairment and the time of onset of hearing impairment, and substantiates the directions and principles of speech therapy in the system of comprehensive care. The author notes that one of the main goals of speech therapy support for children with hearing impairment is the development of oral speech based on preserved auditory remnants or with the help of technical rehabilitation devices such as hearing aids or cochlear implants. An important area for this is the development of auditory perception, the formation of phonemic awareness, correction of sound pronunciation, enrichment of vocabulary, improvement of the grammatical structure of speech and stimulation of communication skills, including the use of alternative and additional means of communication, if necessary. The article emphasizes the need for an integrated approach to the organization of speech therapy support, which involves close interaction of a speech therapist with a sign language teacher, psychologist, and medical professionals, as well as active involvement of parents in the correctional process. At the same time, the principle of individualization of work is a priority, according to which an individual speech therapy program is developed for each child, taking into account his or her hearing, speech, cognitive, social and emotional characteristics. Considerable attention is paid to the forms of organization of speech therapy, which include individual sessions aimed at developing auditory perception and speech; group sessions that promote the formation of communication skills in the team; counseling parents to create a speech environment at home; and the integration of correctional work into the educational process of special and inclusive institutions. Speech therapy sessions should be systematic, intensive, motivationally meaningful for the child, with gradual complication of tasks in accordance with his or her development.
