Abstract
The article deals with the relevance of forming the pedagogical competence of a sign language teacher, which is due to the growing number of children who receive such hearing aids as cochlear implants. This technology provides an opportunity for the development of auditory perception and speech, which requires new approaches to their training and education. The authors reveal the importance of modern trends in the rehabilitation, education and development of children with cochlear implants and the use of cochlear implantation systems. The article states that cochlear implantation is a highly effective method of rehabilitation of deaf people and people with significant hearing loss. The effectiveness of cochlear implantation depends on the organization of postoperative hearing and speech rehabilitation. The professional competence of specialists working with children who are hearing-impaired with cochlear implants is critical to ensure quality rehabilitation, speech development and socialization. Cochlear implants are an important tool for children with hearing impairments, allowing them to access the world of sounds. The main work falls on the shoulders of specialists at the child's place of residence, who continue rehabilitation in accordance with the recommendations of the implantation and rehabilitation center. The article emphasizes that children with cochlear implants may face some difficulties in adaptation after their installation. It is important that the child's environment, including family, caregivers, and friends, support them during this period. Children may experience stress due to new sounds they have not heard before. It is important to seek professional help to cope with emotional difficulties. The authors note that the most important role in the successful rehabilitation of children with cochlear implants is played by their parents and relatives. Their work on the development of children's hearing and speech, psychological and social support is one of the essential components of successful postoperative rehabilitation. That is why the training of a professional specialist in the field of sign language support for a child with a cochlear implant is extremely important and necessary nowadays. The role of a sign language teacher is critical in the process of introducing the latest technologies and adapting educational materials for children with special needs.
