Abstract

The article highlights the issue of designing the educational environment of a general secondary education institution with an emphasis on the role of the library as a center for information, cultural and communicative development of participants in the educational process. It is shown that the modern school library is being transformed into an open educational space that contributes to the formation of information literacy, reading culture and creative activity of students. Modern education is experiencing a period of deep transformations associated with digitalization, a competency-based approach, personally oriented learning and a rethinking of the role of the educational environment. In the context of the implementation of the Concept "New Ukrainian School" (NUS), the emphasis is shifting from the transfer of knowledge to the creation of a favorable environment for the development, self-realization and creativity of students. In this context, the design of the educational environment appears as a strategic task of each educational institution, and the school library as an active participant in this process.
