Abstract
The article is devoted to identifying appropriate calming strategies for students with intellectual disabilities that would help them manage their emotions and behavior. Foreign studies examining the proprioception influence on emotional and social behavior are analyzed. Four generalized types of calming strategies are described. Calming techniques useful for students with intellectual disabilities are outlined. The role of teachers in ensuring the effective implementation of calming measures is indicated, as well as the fact that they should be clearly planned and included as a component of the individual rehabilitation program of students.
