Abstract

The article examines the psychological mechanisms through which media content influences the formation of adolescents’ social identity within the educational environment. It shows that modern media serve as a powerful agent of socialization that shapes norms, values, and social roles among young people. The specific effects of audiovisual content on the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components of identity are identified. The research findings indicate that systematic consumption of media content can both promote the development of social competence and cause distortions in value orientations, depending on the content and context of the media.
