Abstract
The article reveals the features of preserving and supporting the mental health of primary school students in wartime. The relevance and importance of this problem are highlighted. The tasks of organizing the educational process on the principles of preserving health, in particular mental health, are determined. The concept of "mental health" is revealed from the point of view of various authors and in accordance with the approach of the World Health Organization (WHO). It is emphasized that the war caused significant psychological consequences for primary school students, which can manifest themselves in various areas (emotional, cognitive, behavioral, physiological, social). According to our research, it was established that the mental state of primary school students is influenced by a complex of factors, including, first of all, stressful situations caused by the war; family problems; problems in learning and socialization; as well as the individual characteristics of the child himself and the conditions of his upbringing. Adverse factors can cause the development of neurotic states, anxiety, aggressiveness, decreased academic performance, and difficulties in adaptation.
