Abstract

The article reveals the life and scientific and pedagogical path of Hanna Ihnatenko, a geography teacher, teacher-innovator of Derzhanivka Secondary School in Nosivka district, Chernihiv region (born in 1924 in Derzhanivka village - died in 2013, Nosivka). The article reveals the history of the establishment and development of the educational institution. Attention is focused on the creative achievements of the teaching staff, on the figures of graduates of the author's native school. Among them are Honored Journalist of Ukraine M. Budliansky, Colonels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine M. Shevela and M. Shostak, Colonel of Justice V. Trukhan and other numerous graduates of the school. The author also discusses the future of modern rural education.
