Abstract
The teaching and methodological manual presents the theoretical and methodological foundations of organizing psychological support for children with mild intellectual disabilities. The central focus of the manual is the application of art therapy as a key means of psychological intervention, aimed at ensuring emotional stabilization, developing social intelligence, communicative competence, and enhancing the adaptive capacities of preschool children in crisis life situations. The manual outlines the content and specific features of art-therapeutic techniques within the system of psychological support, provides diagnostic tools for assessing the level of social and emotional development of children with mild intellectual disabilities in crisis situations, and describes algorithms for implementing corrective and developmental art-therapy programs. It also highlights aspects of psychological support for parents and educators raising children in this category. The implementation of the manual’s materials will contribute to improving the effectiveness of psychological support for preschool children with mild intellectual disabilities, overcoming psychological trauma, harmonizing mental health, and developing adaptive abilities. The manual is intended for practical psychologists, educators, special education teachers in special and inclusive preschool institutions, specialists of inclusive resource centers, lecturers and students of higher education institutions in specialties C4 Psychology and A6 Special Education, as well as researchers and practitioners studying issues of development, assessment, and psychological support of children with mild intellectual disabilities.
