Abstract

The article explores the psychological aspects of the impact of war and crisis phenomena on the development of an individual’s life competence. It demonstrates that war transforms life tasks, values, and adaptive strategies, highlighting the need to preserve resilience, self-realization, and psychological well-being. Based on the author’s method “Life Tasks”, an empirical study was conducted to examine the dynamics of life domains that determine life competence during the period of full-scale war. The results indicate that educational-professional, material, and personal domains become priorities, while social activity and health care gradually lose significance. A tendency toward reduced life activity and an increase in the number of individuals unable to define their life tasks was revealed, indicating emotional exhaustion and the need for psychological support. It is concluded that life competence serves as a key factor of adaptation to wartime and crisis conditions, and its development requires targeted psychoeducational and socio-psychological interventions.
