Abstract

The practical manual highlights the theoretical and practical principles of vocational training for students with intellectual disabilities in the process of specially organized correctional and developmental training, and reveals the content and methodology of teaching the subject "Technology" to students in grades 5-10 with intellectual disabilities in special secondary education institutions and secondary education institutions with special classes. The tasks, principles, forms, methods and means of implementing the content of technological education for students with intellectual disabilities are considered, and answers are given to current questions regarding the variability of the content of the subject "Technology" in the New Ukrainian School and the specifics of practice-oriented teaching. The correctional and developmental potential of technological education is highlighted, in particular the impact on the development of thinking, speech, memory, attention, sensorimotor and coordination skills, and the acquisition of vital skills and competencies of students. The manual contains practical recommendations, calendar and thematic planning, sample lessons, creative projects, instructional cards, and interesting didactic materials that will contribute to the effective organization of the educational process, taking into account the special educational needs of students. The manual is addressed to teachers, psychologists, specialists (consultants) of the IRC, parents of children with SEN, and all interested users.
