Abstract
The article emphasizes that digital technologies are taking an increasingly important place in society, and people need to learn to trust these technologies. Artificial intelligence (AI), as a technological trend in higher education, contributes to the development of divergent thinking. Tools such as ChatGPT can foster this by presenting students with multiple perspectives, teaching them to generate alternative solutions, and think creatively. It has been found that despite objections and fears about AI, it is necessary to accept it as an innovation today in order to make it easier to adapt to the innovations of the future. The article analyzes foreign and Ukrainian academic sources on AI as a technological trend in higher education, covering ethical aspects, experience, and prospects for its implementation. This analysis confirms the relevance of the issue and the need for practical solutions. The strengths and weaknesses of AI in education are identified; a generalized reflection on the practical significance of AI in education is presented; and ways to use AI in higher education are proposed. It is emphasized that students must be taught to value the process more than the final product – in particular, the thinking process that takes place while working with AI tools. Ethical interaction with different AI models is a prerequisite for forming specialists with educational leadership, strategic thinking, and team collaboration skills in academic, research, and professional environments.
