Abstract
The article presents the results of a pedagogical experiment aimed at verifying the methodology for implementing one of the promising educational models in the practice of general secondary and out-of-school education institutions. The model is focused on the formation and development of students’ publication competence as an integral part of their research activity and future scientifi c career. As part of the experiment, an electronic learning course entitled “Methodological Foundations for Engaging School and Out-of-School Students in Publication Activity” was developed and implemented on the Moodle platform. The course included theoretical modules and practical assignments. The expected outcome of the training was the preparation of student-authored articles for the scientifi c student journal “Young Researcher”, published annually by the Institute of Gifted Child of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. More than 200 teachers successfully completed the course and were given the opportunity to implement the Model in their educational institutions. The article provides a detailed description of each stage of the experiment – preparatory, ascertaining, formative, and control. Statistical data are presented on the levels of students' competence relevant to publication activity before and after the implementation of the Model. The results demonstrate a signifi cant increase in all measured competencies, particularly in organizational skills (+71 %) and critical thinking (+47 %). Information and academic competencies increased by nearly 40 %, while communication skills showed the least growth, indicating the need to further strengthen this module. The results of the Delphi method confi rmed the practicality and innovativeness of the Model. Experts especially noted its expected positive impact on students, coherence of its components, and alignment with current educational demands. The fi ndings confi rm the eff ectiveness of the implementation methodology and its potential for scaling within the educational system.
