Abstract

The present research presents the relationship between knowledge leadership and intellectual capital in schools. In terms of its purpose, it is applied and descriptive-correlational in nature. The population consisted of all primary school teachers of X (n = 325), from which a sample of 176 people was selected using a simple random sampling method based on Morgan’s sample size table. To measure the variable of knowledge leadership, Viitala’s (2004) questionnaire was used, and for intellectual capital, the Bontis model was applied. The formal and content validity of the tools was calculated through expert opinions, and the reliability obtained using Cronbach’s alpha method for knowledge leadership and intellectual capital was 0.95 and 0.88, respectively. To analyze the data, Pearson’s correlation coefficient test, one-sample t-test, and regression analysis were used. The results indicate that the current state of knowledge leadership and intellectual capital is above average, and the components of knowledge leadership (tendency to learn, learning-supportive atmosphere, and support for the process of individual and group learning) have a positive and significant effect on intellectual capital. Among the components of knowledge leadership, only the tendency to learn is a significant predictor of intellectual capital. The results of this research can be used to develop the human capital of organizations.
