Abstract

The article is devoted to highlighting one of the four strategies for teaching the basics of health to children with intellectual disabilities. Based on the analysis of foreign scientific research, ways of creating a supportive environment within the framework of teaching the course "Health, Safety and Wellbeing" in grades 5-10 are highlighted and outlined, namely: creating a connection between school and home; using various support tools for planning and monitoring the achievement of goals for the formation of health-saving skills (using "goal check sheet", taking "control photos or videos" and sharing them in the classroom, etc.); as well as using various interesting educational materials.
