Abstract
The methodological guidelines are devoted to the issue of moral and patriotic education of the younger generation, which is particularly relevant in contemporary Ukraine, enduring extremely difficult trials due to the war. The work explores effective ways of employing Ukrainian folk poetic expression (in particular, fairy tales, lullabies, nursery rhymes, charms, and proverbs) in the educational process of preschool institutions and primary schools under martial law, emphasizing the importance of patriotic education. It is underscored that war necessitates a rethinking of traditional educational approaches. Thus, the use of folk poetic expression in the educational process becomes not only a means of speech development but also a humanistic tool for psychological support and the cultivation of patriotic feelings. Folklore also emerges as an important resource for stabilizing children’s emotional state during wartime. The materials contained in these methodological guidelines are aimed at enhancing the level of psychological competence of all those working with children. They can be utilized by practicing psychologists, educators, social workers, instructors of in-service teacher training institutes, and educational methodologists.
