Abstract
The article presents a comprehensive study of the problem of forming civic competence in the subjects of an inclusive educational space based on the analysis of scientific works by Ukrainian scholars. The relevance of the topic is substantiated in connection with the transformations in the national education system, the challenges of today and the strategic goal of building a civil society. Civic competence is seen as an integrative personal characteristic that includes knowledge, values, attitudes, motivations, skills and readiness to actively participate in the life of a democratic society. The study identifies methodological approaches (competence-based, environmental, interdisciplinary) that scientists and practitioners rely on when forming civic competence in the subjects of an inclusive educational environment. The importance of an inclusive educational environment as a platform for the development of civic qualities in all participants of the educational process is emphasized. The emphasis is placed on the role of the teacher as a key agent in the formation of civic competence, especially in the context of inclusive education, where his/her professional readiness and personal maturity are of particular importance. Scientific gaps in the field of civic competence formation among people with special educational needs and teachers working in an inclusive environment are identified. The need to develop adapted models of civic education that take into account individual educational needs and socio-cultural contexts is emphasized. Recommendations for further research and practical solutions aimed at improving the effectiveness of civic education in an inclusive environment are formulated.
